We are on the hunt for very generous individuals who like our site, believe in our talents, or is interested in seeing our film and being a part of it!
We have always made our short films independently, instead of getting commissions from television broadcasters or government agencies. Which is great, because it means for Brain Sick we will own the rights and so we control the distribution – and, after years slogging through festivals and DVDs and cinema releases and internet downloads – we will end up with millions more viewers.
But not having a funding commission, means that raising the money for the films is always extremely difficult. This film is partly being funded out of our own pockets, but we need help!
We are not getting paid to make this film, so every cent raised through donations will go directly towards making the film.
If you decide to support our efforts, we will be eternally grateful.

What We’re Doing
Brain Sick is result of years of toil and hard work. After numerous ideas, short films and discussions, the script for a unique horror film was conceived. And we are very proud of it! The film will be a throwback to the great horror films of the 70’s, all practically shot, no special effects. We want to bring story back to horror, with realistic storylines and characters, and not just have ridiculous concepts and gore-for-gore sake (yes, we’re looking at you Human Centipede).
So, will it be any good? Our short films have won awards in the past, and those films were made for under fifty dollars! But for a film on this scale, we’re going to need some help! Simply put, we’re raising money. So, we are raising $15,000 in time for the film to enter into pre-production in 2014. If we are lucky to raise any money after that, the rest will be going towards marketing and distribution in order to find an even larger audience!
Why We’re Doing It
For over 10 years, (whilst moving from day job to day job) we have dreamed of making a cinema feature film. After 2 years of developing and writing a screenplay, we had something that was exciting, unique and had potential. Now questions started to arise. Can we make this on a low budget? Do we have the capability to make a feature film? How are we going to raise the money? Screw it! We’ve been talking about making a film for so long, let’s just do it!
So, this is where you come in! Some would say a feature film on this scale, with a low budget is almost impossible, but you can help make the impossible possible. If you are starting out in film and want to get a credit, maybe there’s a job for you here? If you have some arcadic piece of clothing that would be perfect for the film, maybe you can donate it here? Maybe you’re a filmmaker and you want tips on making your first film, then come, ask questions and read about us here. Dreams can come true, which is why we want you to be here, apart of this community (which we dubbed ‘Brain Trust’), so you can share the excitement for when it does happen!

FAQ
How much will the film cost?
$15,000 for the production. $5,000 for marketing and distribution.
Isn’t that incredibly low budget for a big movie?
We are able to do this, without any loss in the quality of the final product, because:
· The crew will consist of determined young individuals eager for an opportunity
· The producers and directors of the film will not be paid any money up-front.
· We have most of the skills and equipment in-house.
We’ve had a lot of practise making films on low budgets. Our short film ‘Life Cycle’ was made for just $10 dollars, and was featured in a number of film festivals and even won an award!
Who does the money go to?
Every dollar will go directly to funding the production of Brain Sick.
What happens if the money isn’t raised in time?
Unfortunately nothing. If our goal isn’t met before our deadline (start of 2013), our movie is delayed. However, we want to avoid this scenario at all cost!
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! What an amazing problem to have. This will give us the opportunity to see through ALL of our extensive marketing and distribution plans, with the sole purpose of increasing the audience for the film.
How do we contact you?
Glad you asked! You can contact us directly here. We check our emails. We will get back to you. We promise!
Is this donation a non-profit?
Unfortunately Brain Sick is not set up as a non-profit. Donations are raw gifts, non-tax deductible.
If I donate, when do I receive my gifts?
All donations, big or small, will be manufactured and shipped to you at various times. For example, DVD’s, (which will be the last item finished), will likely ship towards the end of 2014. However, any form of digital downloads will likely to be much sooner. You will be updated on a regular basis regarding timelines, as it is our priority to fulfil your gift orders as soon as possible.
When will the film be released?
Filming is aiming to begin 2nd Quarter of 2014 with post-production to begin after filming is complete. The plan is to have the movie release towards the end of 2014. Rest assured all of us involved will make sure YOU know when it’s due to release.
